Frost hardy. Grows best in moist well-drained soil, in full sun to part shade. Also known as Canadian Redbud or Judas tree, Cercis Canadensis, is similar to the Chinese Redbud, appreciated for its small pink pea like flowers that appear in spring, before and with the new leaves.
