This tree has a nice thick rounded canopy, the most defining difference between this tree and the common frangipani is that the leaves are a darker shade of green, rounded on the ends of the leaf and evergreen tree in warmer climates.

Although this tree is often revered to as an evergreen, cold conditions cause the tree to behave in a deciduous manner .
