A medium sized tree, the sugar gum is distinguished by its colourful mottled- yellow, blue-grey to orange bark and glossy, dark green on the upper surface, paler below adult leaves, clusters of creamy-white flowers in the spring and summer months. It is quite suitable and ornamental in larger gardens and road side verges.
