This woodland tree from southern high-rainfall regions of Australia is usually a shapely eucalypt with a single straight trunk and a smooth, creamy yellow or bluish gray bark that is shed in irregular flakes. The narrow-lance-shaped, gray-green adult leaves grow to 20cm long. Profuse pink and red flowers about 30mm across are borne in pendulous clusters of 3 from late autumn through to spring.
